Light+? in Changchun China

The ‘International Day of Light’ Special Event — ‘Light+?’ — will be held at on the 11th of May 2019, initiated by China Optical Society, which will launch its opening ceremony at the Changchun China Optical Science and Technology Museum (CCOSTM).

As China’s only state-level optical museum, CCOSTM focuses at ‘Light of Science & Technology, Leading the Future’. In the past years, CCOSTM helped develop popular interests in optics, promote history of optical development, disseminate optical research outcomes and facilitate international communication and collaboration in optics. On the 11th of May, the opening ceremony will begin with a ’Dynamic Laser Show’, followed by ’Magic Eyes, Animal Eyes and Bionic Optics Laser Show’ Seminar, ’Light+Shadow’ popular science activity, ’Symphony of Light and Story’ speech contest, ’Magic Light’ painting exhibition and ’Experience of Light’ popular science caravan-tour. 

The’Light +?’ themed event took the opportunity of International Day of Light to inspire popular interests in optics. In particular, the event targets at exploring teenagers' imagination and creativity for Light and optical technology.

 

The Special Event is organized by the CCOSTM, the Changchun University of Science and Technology, the Jilin Optical Society, Changchun Institute of Optical, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the journal Light: Science & Applications
